Eco-friendly golf apparel: How golf apparel brands are working to reduce their environmental impact

Golf is a sport associated with green fields and nature, but the production of golf clothing can have a large environmental impact. However, many golf apparel brands have begun working to reduce their environmental impact by using more sustainable materials and manufacturing processes.

One of the biggest problems with golf apparel is the use of conventional cotton plantations that require large amounts of water and chemicals to produce. Several companies have started using more sustainable alternatives such as organic cotton, Tencel and recycled materials to reduce their environmental impact.

An example of a company that uses organic cotton in its golf clothing is Kjus, which is a Swiss company that specializes in technical golf clothing. They use organic cotton in several of their garments and also work with recycled materials such as polyester and nylon.

Another company working to reduce its environmental impact is Adidas, which has launched a line of golf apparel made from recycled materials such as recycled polyester and recycled nylon. Their sustainability initiatives also include a commitment to eliminate single-use plastics from their production processes.

Another example of a golf clothing brand that works with sustainability is Galvin Green, which is a Swedish manufacturer of high-performance golf clothing. They use Tencel, a wood-based fiber that requires less water and chemicals to produce, in several of their garments and also work with recycled materials.

2Gringos is also at the forefront when it comes to sustainability, where, for example, we make golf caps from waste fabrics and recycled materials. It hardly gets much better than that.

As golfers, we can all contribute to reducing the environmental impact by choosing golf clothing from companies that work with sustainability. By choosing garments made from sustainable materials and manufacturing processes, we can help reduce our environmental impact and preserve the beautiful nature on which golf courses are built.
